FOR THE ATTENTION OF: Hospital CEOs, Chiefs of Staff/VPs of Medical Affairs, CNEs/CNOs, CHROs, Patient Safety & Quality Leads, Labour Relations Leads, Occupational Health & Safety Leads, HR Leads, Legal Counsel, Communicators and the OHA Board Update on the 2020/21 Quality Improvement Plan Submission Process Today, Ontario Health (Quality) announced it will be pausing the 2020/21 Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) submission process to allow organizations to focus on the management and treatment of COVID-19. Some organizations may have already started working on their QIP or have already submitted. If your QIP is near completion and you would like to submit, please proceed. The QIP navigator will remain open. Further information will be communicated by the end of June. If you have any questions, please contact QIP@hqontario.ca New Temporary Physician Funding for Hospitals On Saturday, a memo was sent to Ontario hospitals from Patrick Dicerni, Interim Assistant Deputy Minister and General Manager, Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) Division and Mike Heenan, Assistant Deputy Minister, Hospitals and Capital Division regarding temporary physician funding for hospitals during COVID-19. Webinar on COVID-19 and Palliative Care: Goals of Care Conversations Hospice Palliative Care Ontario is partnering with the Ontario Medical Association to co-host a webinar on Having Important Conversations on April 16th from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This session is intended for physicians and health care professionals. It will be facilitated by Dr. Leah Steinberg, Dr. Nadia Incardona, Dr. Jeff Myers and Dr. Jennifer Arvanitis. They will cover the fundamentals of Health Care Consent Advance Care Planning and Goals of Care, and how to have these important conversations with their patients.
